A Love Letter: To You

Gratitude for my work

A Love Letter: To You!

When I started Pivot Wellness 3 years ago, I could never have guessed the deep love I had and would develop for my calling, helping people help themselves (including me).  Though it began as a convenient flirtation, I realized quickly that if I wanted Pivot to survive the summer-love stage, I’d have to show up in ways I had rarely asked of myself.  This was easy and safe enough until the college downsized and my online-teaching-only limitation was not enough.

From flirtation to commitment, it was terrifying.  I felt so alive.

Over my long years of coaching, guiding and facilitating, I have had the incredible privilege of sitting across from so many; individuals looking honestly at themselves, looking for growth, asking for help, and standing tall in themselves.  In them, I see parts of myself, re-learn hard lessons, and stumble on another lesson waiting for me.

Since I started this private practice, those opportunities have become richer, more personal and inspiring.  Whether I am sitting in a small circle in the desert, leading 100 employees through a meditation, or one-on-one, I leave those spaces with a very conscious, deep gratitude.

Thank you. Thank you for letting me teach you.  Thank you for joining me as I learn from my own human struggles and what I’m studying.  Thank you for supporting the weave I create from my life, what I have learned from you, and evidence from one or another study in compassion, habits, meditation, achievement...

Like any relationship, it is not always pretty and staying engaged in those times requires effort.  Sometimes, even the things I love land on my tired brain and heart and I struggle.  But it always comes back to the fact: this is my calling.  I am the thoughtful, safe space that invites you out to play.  I will continue to play inside this wild, weirdness of being human and I am so happy to have you here; seeing, challenging, and supporting me.  Thank you for allowing me to do the same.

So, as I practice the skill of loving and being loved, I say…

I love you all, thank you for asking me to be my best, you absolutely blow me away every single time,

Blake
